Which system fits my home?
It depends on how you will use the space. A dedicated room allows total darkness. A hybrid living space is also used during the day and calls for a different layout of speakers, subwoofers, and seating. In a premium dedicated room, 7.1.4 is the Dolby reference layout and 7.2.4 adds a second subwoofer. Ceiling height and shape decide whether it is feasible, and that is measured during the site visit.
Home theater guideNew build or finished home?
In new construction, the theater is defined before the walls are closed, while cable routes and rack location are still open. In a finished home, we first check which conduit already exists and reuse it. Any cable still needed goes above gypsum ceilings or behind moldings, and the lighting can run wirelessly on Lutron RadioRA 3 from the existing boxes. It takes longer than new construction; the finished system is the same.

Your involvement comes down to three moments. At the drawing stage, the room type, the screen, and the seating and speaker positions are defined. During rough-in, the cabling goes in and the rack is prepared. At the end, we install, calibrate with instrumented measurements, program the Control4 scene, and you watch the first film in the finished room with us.

The timeline depends on the construction stage and the scope, and it is set in phases in the proposal. The order is fixed: engineering and cabling before the walls are closed, installation and calibration at the end. To start, we reply within 24 business hours, and our engineers review your drawings or visit the space at no cost.

Every project includes business-hours support, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00, with an initial response within 24 business hours and remote diagnostics when the system allows it. DomuLab Care plans add preventive visits. Care Premium adds emergency response for critical incidents, within 24 hours at most.

Layout and acoustics
We lay out speakers, subwoofers, and seating according to the geometry and use of the room. Acoustic treatment follows the same geometry: absorption panels at the first reflection points, bass traps in the corners, and diffusers on the rear wall. With your interior designer we resolve grilles, colors, and finish reflectance, because they affect picture contrast.
Electronics and signal
Processors, amplification, and sources are selected to match the room and the level of experience sought. HDMI paths, HDCP handling, and a conditioned rack are defined before the walls are closed, and the network is tested in the theater as a critical point.

How much does a home theater cost in Ecuador?
It depends on the room: size, acoustic treatment, speaker layout, projector or television, and the level of integration with the rest of the home. That is why we do not publish a fixed price. Our engineers review your drawings or visit the room at no cost, and the proposal details the recommended brands and phases.
What does 7.2.4 mean in a Dolby Atmos system?
It is the number of speakers by type. The first number is the ear-level speakers, the second the subwoofers, and the third the height speakers. A 7.2.4 system has seven ear-level speakers, two subwoofers, and four height speakers. It is the configuration of our Premium Home Theater project.
At what height do the overhead speakers go in Dolby Atmos?
According to the Dolby installation guidelines, ear-level speakers typically sit about 1.2 m (3.9 ft) above the floor, and overhead speakers at two to three times that height. That rule works out to a range of roughly 2.4 to 3.6 m (7.9 to 11.8 ft). It is our own calculation from the rule, not a figure published by Dolby. In the 7.1.4 reference layout, the angle of elevation of the overhead speakers is 45 degrees, adjustable between 30 and 55. The final height is set during engineering, after the room is measured, and that is also where beams or level changes in the ceiling are resolved.
Projector or television for a home theater?
It depends on the light in the room. In a dedicated room, where light is fully controlled, the preferred option is a projector with a controlled-gain screen, which can be motorized. In a living space that is also used during the day, a high-brightness display holds contrast better. We decide it with your interior designer, because finish colors and reflectance affect the picture.
How is a home theater calibrated?
With instrumented measurements in the finished room. For audio, the level and delay of each speaker are set, along with the level, phase, and crossover frequency of the subwoofers, so bass reaches every seat evenly. Video is also calibrated with measurements. The settings are documented at handover.
