Control4 Price in Ecuador 2026: Real Ranges

The first question we get before any technical visit is always the same: how much does Control4 cost in Ecuador? It’s a fair question, and it deserves a straight answer.

The honest answer is: it depends on the scope of the project. But “it depends” without numbers is useless when you’re comparing quotes and deciding whether the investment is worth it. That’s why, in this article, we publish the real ranges we work with at DomuLab in 2026 —no runaround, no “contact us for a quote” as the only answer.

What is fixed: Control4 is a dealer-only system. You can’t buy it in a store or install it yourself. You need a certified Control4 integrator to acquire it, program it, and get it running. That model is part of what guarantees the quality of the final result.

What determines the price of Control4?

The cost of a Control4 project isn’t a fixed number because there are four variables that change in every home:

1. Hardware The heart of the system is the controller (CA-10, HC-800, or CA-1 depending on the size of the project). On top of that come keypads, touch panels, device drivers, and the system’s software licenses. The hardware varies enormously depending on the number of control points and the integrated devices.

2. Labor and installation Professional installation includes structured cabling, hardware mounting, network configuration, and commissioning. In complex residential projects, this stage can take several days and account for 25% to 40% of the total budget.

3. Programming complexity Control4 doesn’t work “out of the box.” Every project requires custom programming: scenes, automations, security logic, schedules. The more sophisticated the expected behavior of the system, the more hours of programming.

4. Project scope How many rooms? Just lights, or also audio, video, climate control, security, shades, and access? Is it new construction or a retrofit on an existing house? These decisions are what carry the most weight in the final budget.

Real price ranges in Ecuador 2026

The following values are in US dollars (USD) and include hardware, installation, and basic programming. They are estimates based on completed projects; every case is unique and requires a formal proposal.

Basic Control4 — $3,500 to $6,000

Ideal for someone who wants to start with automation in 1 or 2 rooms. Includes:

  • Control of smart lighting in main areas
  • Distributed audio in 2 to 4 zones
  • Control from a mobile app and one or two physical keypads
  • Basic programming with scenes (wake-up, night, leave)

This tier works very well as an entry point. The system is scalable, so what’s installed in this phase can be expanded later without replacing it.

Complete residential Control4 — $8,000 to $18,000

The most common range in new residential projects in Guayaquil and Quito. Includes:

  • Automation of 3 to 4 main rooms
  • Smart lighting with dimmers throughout the house
  • Multiroom audio with in-ceiling speakers (4 to 8 zones)
  • Climate control (AC, radiant floors, or both)
  • Basic security integration (cameras, sensors, alarm)
  • A touchscreen or dedicated remote control
  • Advanced programming with automations by schedule, presence, and mode

This is the project we execute most often as a Control4 integrator in Ecuador. It delivers a complete experience without reaching the levels of a very high-end residence.

Premium Control4 — $20,000 to $60,000+

For large residences or projects that integrate everything: the whole house, home theater, outdoor control, perimeter security, and reference AV systems. Includes:

  • Automation of the entire home (5+ rooms, common areas, outdoors)
  • Home theater with reference audio processors and 4K projection
  • Video distribution to multiple TVs with a video matrix
  • Control of motorized shades
  • An access system with intercom and door control
  • Architectural design lighting (Lutron Caseta Pro or RadioRA 3)
  • Integration with a complete security system with monitoring
  • Multiple touch panels throughout the house
  • High-complexity programming, capable of including energy intelligence

The range can exceed $60,000 in properties with very specific integration requirements or very large areas. It’s not the most frequent budget, but it’s real and executable.

What does the price include?

When DomuLab delivers a proposal, the price covers:

  • Official Control4 hardware acquired through authorized channels
  • Physical installation: cabling, mounting, network connections, and signal verification
  • Custom programming: scenes, automations, and logic specific to the way you live
  • Training: we teach you to use the system, both you and your staff
  • Technical support for 1 year: a response to any fault or post-installation adjustment

What it doesn’t include: civil works (if the cabling requires opening new walls, that’s quoted separately), other-brand equipment that gets integrated (cameras, ACs, or locks are quoted separately), and license upgrades beyond the first year.

About buying the hardware on your own: it’s not possible. Control4 is a system exclusive to certified dealers. It’s not available through e-commerce or direct import. Any equipment circulating outside the official channels has no support, can’t be registered on the platform, and doesn’t receive updates. The only way to have real Control4 is through a certified integrator.

Why does Control4 cost more than WiFi systems?

It’s a valid comparison. An Alexa + Philips Hue bulbs + TP-Link cameras system might cost $300. Why would anyone spend 10 or 20 times more?

Local processing. Control4 runs from a physical controller in your home. The automations work even when there’s no internet, and the latency when triggering a light or a scene is milliseconds, not seconds.

Real integration. Control4 has certified drivers for more than 14,000 devices. That means the projector, the audio processor, the camera system, the lock, and the thermostat don’t just “turn on” from the same app —they communicate with each other, with full two-way control.

No dependence on a third-party cloud. When Google discontinues a product or changes its API, Google Home users lose the integration. In Control4, updates go through the integrator and are validated before being installed. Nobody touches your system without your authorization.

Support with a name and a face. If something fails, you have a number to call. Not a community forum or a ticket that takes 5 days.

If you head over to DomuLab’s home automation services, you’ll find each area of integration in detail and how they complement each other in a complete project.

How to get a real quote

The process is simple and no-commitment:

  1. Initial contact — you write or call us with basic information: type of home, city, stage (new construction or retrofit), and what you’re interested in automating
  2. Technical visit — we schedule a visit to the property to understand the layout, the existing cabling, and your priorities
  3. Formal proposal — within no more than 48 business hours after the visit, you have a detailed proposal with hardware, programming, installation, and total cost
  4. No fine print — the price we give you in the proposal is the final price, barring changes in scope that we agree on together

If you already have a project in mind or you’re comparing proposals from different integrators, we can help you interpret the differences. There’s no need to commit to anything just to talk.

Contact DomuLab here and we’ll get back to you the same day.

Frequently asked questions

Does Control4 include installation in the price?

In DomuLab’s proposals, yes. The price always includes hardware, installation, programming, and initial training. If you see a hardware-only price somewhere, that’s not the real cost of the project —installation and programming are mandatory and represent a significant part of the work.

Can I expand my Control4 system later?

Yes, and it’s one of the advantages of the ecosystem. Control4 is designed to grow. If you installed lights in 2 rooms today, you can add audio, shades, or security in the future without replacing what’s installed. The initial controller supports expansions and the programming is updated modularly. It is important, however, that the first installation is properly sized for the expected growth.

Is financing available for Control4 in Ecuador?

It depends on how you structure it. Payment for the project itself is generally in stages (deposit, progress payment, delivery). For bank or credit-card financing, you depend on the products available at your financial institution —it’s not something we handle directly, but we can issue the invoice needed to arrange a loan. It’s something we discuss case by case in the proposal.

What warranty does Control4 have?

Control4 hardware has a 1-year factory warranty. Additionally, DomuLab offers 1 year of technical support on the installation and the programming. After the first year, we offer preventive maintenance contracts and priority support. In practice, well-installed Control4 systems have a service life of more than 10 years with regular updates.
